FAQ

Common questions

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free plan never requires payment. You upgrade only when you need more monitors or faster checks.

What does the Team plan include beyond Pro?

Team adds shared workspace access with member roles (owner, admin, member), scoped API keys for CI and programmatic access, GitHub Actions or CI quality-gate workflows, webhook delivery to your own systems, PagerDuty integration for on-call routing, 15-minute check cadences, and 365-day run history.

Can PromptCanary block a deploy when an AI check fails?

Yes. Team workspaces can use PromptCanary monitors as CI quality gates through scoped API keys, the repo-native CLI path, or a GitHub Action wrapper. A failing verdict returns a non-zero exit code so the workflow stops before rollout.

Can I invite teammates without giving them billing access?

Yes. Team workspaces have role-based access. Admins can manage monitors and API keys; members can view run history and results. Only owners control billing.

What counts as a monitor?

One monitor = one endpoint URL you check on a schedule. Each monitor can have multiple test cases with different prompts and assertions.

What happens when I hit my monitor limit?

You can still view and manage existing monitors. Creating new ones is paused until you upgrade or remove unused monitors.

Your AI feature is running. Is it still doing its job?

PromptCanary runs scheduled checks, alerts you when something changes, and can act as a CI quality gate before a risky prompt or model change ships. Start free with two monitors, no credit card required.
